| Reiki I and II Certification Classes |
prizms is pleased to offer the following classes in Reiki, a Japanese traditional technique for reducing stress, relaxing, and promoting healing. Reiki is based on the concept that each of us is a part of a "universal life-force energy." If our energy is too low or too high, we are more likely to get sick and feel stress; if more balanced and clear, we are more likely to feel healthy and happy.
"Reiki" is derived from two Japanese words, "Rei" meaning "God or Universal Wisdom" and "Ki" meaning "life energy." Together, Reiki is a process of intentionally focusing or allowing energy to be sent or guided to all levels of one's life, body, mind, soul, and spirit, done for one's highest sense of good and well-being. A Reiki treatment, which can involve direct physical contact or can be done indirectly without actual physical contact, often feels very warm and relaxing. It is a very simple, safe, and natural form of healing which helps us connect to our life force energy in more balanced ways. It also works well in combination with other medical or therapeutic modalities to promote the recovery process and reduce side effects.

Reiki I involves an overview and basic history of Reiki, as well as initial attunements to one's "universal energy." Participants learn basic techniques and hand positions which can be used in their work with others as well as with self-treatments.
Reiki II involves a more in-depth study of Reiki, a second-level attunement process, and sharing of three basic Reiki symbols used in treatment with self or others. It is designed to refine the participants knowledge of the treatment process and build on the foundation material learned in Reiki I.
Reiki III/Master Level is provided on an individualized basis, usually over a six-month period, to participants who have completed levels I and II. This level of training is tailored to the individual needs of the participant, higher energy attunements, and sharing of the "master" Reiki symbol. This training level usually occurs over several months and involves an even more in-depth level of skill refinement, practice, and feedback.
