QuIET Mind Holistic Counseling What is it like to be QuIET in the Mind? Experience it for yourself as you learn creative new ways to deal with life's challenges and opportunities. QuIET Mind holistic counseling provides a wide range of experiences, strategies, and techniques to deal with many issues in our lives. QuIET Mind incorporates aspects of physical and psychological relaxation based on the Ten QuIET Principles of QuIETherapy and teaches the client to change old, less helpful patterns into new, more useful possibilities. While it overlaps with much of traditional psychotherapy (which often is aimed more at fixing a diagnosable "problem"), holistic counseling as it is used at Prizms is much broader in scope and involves looking at larger goals, experiencing greater balance in life, and finding new answers to our questions. Prizms uses an integrative approach (see The PRISM Model) to help identify where we are experiencing "blocks" to our progress in different areas of life and to create new strategies for moving forward in healthier ways. As appropriate to the situation, we bring together aspects of more traditional Western therapies and a variety of different Eastern approaches, including energetic healing, meditation, breathwork, movement, and chakra clearing and alignment.
Psychotherapy can be very effective for dealing with a range of mental health issues (see below for our general areas and issues of focus as well as current insurance panel membership). Integrating a variety of different therapeutic approaches, we assist clients with identifying and developing new strategies and skills to move beyond their current difficulties. Portions of QuIETherapy and The PRISM Model also are included, as appropriate, to help move clients beyond the focus on "problem diagnosis" to more holistic perspectives on their lives.

*All clients seen for psychotherapy must be appropriate for outpatient level of treatment as we are not equipped to offer more intensive levels of treatment. As appropriate, more intensive needs would be referred to appropriate resources in the community. Outside-hours emergencies are directed to the local emergency room. **Provider membership on a particular panel does not guarantee coverage. Other insurance options may also cover services. Ultimately, it is the client's financial responsibility to cover expenses if his/her insurance does not pay or reimburse for services.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprogramming (EMDR)
EMDR has been shown to be effective for dealing with specific post-traumatic stress-related events as well as with breaking engrained patterns and behavioral responses, including PTSD and addiction. Tim Nash, MSW, LCSW has completed Level II EMDR training. More about EMDR CLICK HERE
