Course Description: Addiction takes so many forms in our world today. From the alcoholic or drug addict to the individual “hooked” on destructive behaviors like gambling, internet porn, binging/purging, and many others, these “over attachments” wreck so many lives. There are physical, psychological, and metaphysical reasons why “just say NO” and the “war on drugs” don’t work. When we can alter our perspective on addiction, we can learn to integrate our brokenness, transform to new possibilities, and heal at all levels of our experience.
During this half-day “experiential” workshop, participants learn to apply the Integration/Transformation Approach specifically to chemical and behavioral addiction patterns. Using the Five Steps presented in The I/T Approach, An Introduction, we will identify more in-depth patterns associated with chemical and behavioral addictions and how these are manifested in the body, mind, soul, and spirit. Through experiential exercises, we will develop new ways to approach addiction and create possibilities for change.
Learning Outcomes: The Participant will be able: 1) To identify patterns related to chemical and behavioral addiction 2) To describe how these patterns manifest in body, mind, soul, and spirit 3) To demonstrate how the I/T approach can be used to transform these less effective patterns into more useful possibilities for self and/or clients or patients
