Course Description: The “highs and lows” of depression, bipolar and other mood disorders devastate so many lives, from the individual with the disorder to those who love and care about him or her. Culturally, we live in very “depressing” times which makes it all the more difficult to discover the healthy emotional range between the extremes. Finding ways to shift beyond these limiting perspectives, we can learn to open ourselves to new possibilities and “feel” life very differently. So, what color do you want your mood ring to be?
During this half-day “experiential” workshop, participants learn to apply the Integration/Transformation Approach specifically to patterns of depression, bipolar, and other “disordered” mood states. Using the Five Steps presented in The I/T Approach, An Introduction, we will identify more in-depth patterns associated with mood disorders and how these are manifested in the body, mind, soul, and spirit. Through experiential exercises, we will develop new ways to approach these patterns and create possibilities for change.
Learning Outcomes: The Participant will be able: 1) To identify patterns related to depression, bipolar, and other mood disorders 2) To describe how these patterns manifest in body, mind, soul, and spirit 3) To demonstrate how the I/T approach can be used to transform these less effective patterns into more useful possibilities for self and/or clients or patients
