Course Description: “But you complete me...” You know the dance? I’ll lose myself in you. I’ll let you lead my dance, even though I want to go in a different direction. Or, on the other side, I may “take the lead,” using subtle manipulation, coercion, or even overt violence to get my needs met at another’s expense. Relationship patterns take so many different forms, some healthy, some not so healthy. Why do we keep finding ourselves repeating the same old patterns, even though we’ve sworn “never again”?
During this half-day “experiential” workshop, participants learn to apply the Integration/Transformation Approach specifically to codependency and other problematic relationship patterns. Using the Five Steps presented in The I/T Approach, An Introduction, we will identify more in-depth patterns associated with “problem” relationships and how these are manifested in the body, mind, soul, and spirit. Through experiential exercises, we will develop new ways to approach relationships and create possibilities for change.
Learning Outcomes: The Participant will be able: 1) To identify patterns related to problematic relationships, including codependency 2) To describe how these patterns manifest in body, mind, soul, and spirit 3) To demonstrate how the I/T approach can be used to transform these less effective patterns into more useful possibilities for self and/or clients or patients
